Herborn GmbH is a middle-class enterprise based in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg, Germany.

Since 1985 we have been developing and producing mobile and stationary systems for recycling discharge lamps containing harmful substances and mrcury containing wastes (“system herborn”) at our German site in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg, Germany.

Beginning with the development of the first generation of our lamp-recycling method “system herborn” between 1985 and 1988 and the launch of the first system in 1988, we have used “system herborn” to process safely and efficiently million of lamps containing mercury in Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, France, Switzerland, Ukraine, Russia, Korea, China, USA and Brazil. During this period we have become one of the leading providers in this sector – on a national as well as international scale.

In 1989 Herborn GmbH was the first company to launch mobile recycling units on the European market. Since then, as specialists in the field, we have exclusively developed and produced plants for the recycling of discharge lamps, LED and backlight units from flat screens. We supply this technology to customers all over the world, and advise them on compliance with their national rules and regulations for the return and recycling of lamps.

The resulting experience as well as the continuous further development and improvement of our method by our engineers have led to the creation of the most progressive, economical and environmentally friendly technology in the field of lamp recycling.
